Cleaning Up Those Nails with a Manicure
0Many people love feeling healthy and beautiful, so what better way for them to feel that way, then by getting a manicure? A manicure leaves the nails healthy and beautiful, and what client wouldn’t want that?
The actual word “manicure” stems from the Latin words, “manus” and “cura” which means, “hand” and “care.” The basic type of manicure usually entails shaping of the nails, treating the cuticles, moisturizing the hands and polishing the nails. There are many other forms of manicures, along with many advantages of receiving one.
There are many benefits of a manicure. Whether your client wants to improve the look of their nails or to fix any damaged nails or cuticles, a manicure can usually fill their needs. Not only do manicures help fix many problems a client already has with his or her nails, but it can also prevent many issues that can arise, such as hang-nails, fragile nails and wrinkles in the hands and cuticles.
Every nail technician has her own personal style and way of giving a manicure. However, there are very common manicure tools that most technicians use. For example, most nail technicians use, nail clippers, brushes, buffers, cuticle pushers and clippers and usually a bowl of water to soak the hands. Other common tools a technician usually always has on board is, soap, cuticle cream or oil, hand lotion, nail polish remover and nail polish, towels and sanitizer.
There are a lot of different types of manicures that a client can get or request. Although the steps that are taken in each type of manicure are usually the same, such as cleaning, shaping, and painting, there are different application methods that follow for each. For example, a French manicure differs from a paraffin manicure because one uses a wax to moisturize the hands, while the other has a white tip on the nail. A French manicure is very popular among many people. A light colored polish is applied on the entire nail and then white polish (or airbrush) is applied on the tip. A paraffin manicure allows the client to have their hands soaked in paraffin wax, which will help make the hands very soft.
Some other popular manicures are a hot stone manicure, spa manicure and a luxury manicure. These are great when clients have a little more time to sit and relax and really treat themselves. A hot stone manicure uses hot stones to relax the hands, instead of just a regular hand massage. A spa manicure involves other spa treatments such as a mask or a salt rub, and a luxury manicure involves wax, warming gloves, or hot towels that hydrate the client’s nails.
There are some tips that a nail technician should always remember. You should always file the nails gently and to one direction only so that it doesn’t break or tear the nail. Soaking the nails help loosen up the cuticles, which makes it easier to push down and remove, and it also helps cleanse the nails which will make it easier to apply polish to. You should try to refrain from shaking the nail polish bottle, so that you do not collect any air bubbles that will come about while polishing the nails.
